 Infosys, ICICI Bank give Sensex 617-pt lift; Nifty tops 15,100; M&M soars 7%, BHEL tanks 8%

Sensex and Nifty closed at record highs following strong performance in global equities. Sensex touched a high of 51,523, while Nifty hit 15,159 intraday. Auto, metal and IT stocks were the best gainers
